Joining Forces with farm-ng to Make Autonomous Farming a Reality

I’m thrilled to share some big news today: Bonsai Robotics has acquired farm-ng.

This moment represents more than a milestone for our company. It marks a powerful alignment of two teams who care deeply about the future of farming and believe autonomy should be practical, affordable, and transformative.

From the start, we’ve admired farm-ng’s vision. Their modular electric platforms are vision-based, beautifully engineered, incredibly capable, and built with growers in mind. As we worked together in the field, it became clear that our companies were solving different parts of the same puzzle. Now, together, we can offer the full picture: intelligent machines that actually get work done.

A Shared Vision, Built on Practicality

Both companies enter this new chapter with strong momentum. Bonsai is having a massive first year of successful commercial deployments, proving the value of our autonomy platform with real-world customer impact. At the same time, farm-ng is on an exponential growth trajectory with its platforms, rapidly scaling across crops, customers, and use cases.

Growers don’t need more complexity. They need tools that just work. That’s what unites Bonsai and farm-ng: a belief that autonomy and robotics should meet growers where they are, not where the Silicon Valley wants them to be.

With this acquisition, we’re empowering our OEM partners with something truly unique:

- A world-class executive and engineering team with deep roots in agriculture, autonomy, and robotics.
- farm-ng hardware on Bonsai-powered products, bringing modular, electric platforms and low-cost compute and sensors to our OEM partners.
- Bonsai autonomy and app experiences on farm-ng machines, unlocking mixed-fleet visibility and control from a single intuitive interface.

This integration works so well because we share the same approach to perception. Our system uses the latest advancements in AI to create a safe, robust, and fully integrated experience. We believe vision-first, AI-powered autonomy is the right foundation for farming. That alignment means faster integration, greater reliability in the field, and a better experience for growers.

Staying Focused on What Matters

Our focus remains unchanged: perfecting orchard autonomy. Our core software team continues to prioritize current customers and OEMs, working to fully automate orchard operations—spraying, mowing, shaking, transport, and more. Once we’ve perfected orchard workflows, we’ll expand into other crops and regions. Excellence in one environment is our best path to scale.

Strength in Culture, Not Just Code

Beyond the technology, this is a cultural fit. We value iteration over perfection, time in the field over time in the lab, and measurable customer outcomes above all. Our teams are passionate, practical, and committed to real-world results.

Brendan Dowdle will join us as Chief Business Officer. His customer-first mindset and deep belief in our mission make him the ideal partner to help lead this next chapter. Arlen Frew will be joining as our Chief Revenue Officer.

We’re also welcoming John Teeple, previously Director of Technology at John Deere, as our Chief Operating Officer, and Gary Bradski, founder of OpenCV and a pioneer in computer vision and autonomous driving, as Chief Science Officer. Their experience and vision will be critical as we grow.

None of this would be possible without my co-founder and CTO, Uğur Özdemir. Uğur has built an autonomy team capable of turning cutting-edge research into production-ready systems faster than anyone I know. That discipline is what allows us to bring real value to the field week after week.

What Comes Next

In the coming months, you’ll see farm-ng machines running Bonsai autonomy and Bonsai machines built with farm-ng hardware. No big changes overnight—we’re taking a thoughtful, customer-first approach to integration.

To our current customers and partners: your tools are getting better and your experience more connected. To farm-ng customers: we’re here to build on what you already love, with even more capability.

Looking Ahead

I’m grateful to both teams for everything they’ve accomplished so far. This moment matters—not just for Bonsai and farm-ng, but for agriculture. Together, we’re building machines that are smarter, more capable, and actually useful on every farm, regardless of size, crop, or location.

We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
